Amazon announces Rufus, a generative AI shopping assistant

Amazon’s Rufus clearly signals a fundamental shift from keyword-based search to AI-driven discovery. Instead of relying on traditional A9 ranking factors such as keywords and conversion rates, Amazon is now prioritizing customer intent, context, and decision support.

 

This means that product visibility is no longer determined solely by SEO optimization, but by how well a product can answer real customer needs through advertising conversion, page content including bullet points and description, FAQ, reviews, Brand description and contextual relevance at A+ content page.

The aim of marketing is to know and understand the customer so well the product or service fits him and sells itself.
